Christian de Montlibert is Professor of Sociology at Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg, France. The focus of his scholarly work, over the past many years, has included the following subjects of inquiry: the organization of social practice, different modes of domination, individual and collective reactions to domination, the production of ways of seeing the world, intellectual catagories, political discourses...
His most recent field of study has been the contemproary crisis of French universities. Christian de Montlibert is the founder and director of 'Regards Sociologiques', a sociological journal which is published by the University of Strasbourg semi-annually. The past several issues of this journal have dealt with topics such as medicine, a united Europe, spacial relationships, social movements, the social practice of sociologists, neo-liberalism, intellectual disciplines...
