The summer Universities, organized by the ESSE network (For a European Research Space in Social Science) offer to bring together about 25 PhDs and post PhDs from all the European countries implied in this program financed by the European Community.
The more experienced members of the network offer the opportunity to the participants of following theoretic and methodological teachings as also seminars on specific objects and fields of research during 6 days. These exchanges between researchers in social sciences, stemming from different disciplines and countries, constitute a direct and active contribution to the achievement of new forms of scientific cooperation. Links of cooperation and exchange are to be established, mostly between young researchers working in unison on the conditions of prospect of a European space for social sciences. The teachings and discussions take course in English and French.
The First Summer School of the network will allow the PhDs and post PhDs to approach topics and problematic linked with the notion of 'field' for the period of a week. We encourage lively the members of the network to inform their PhDs about this offer. The latter are asked to post us their curriculum vitae (1 Page) and specify their domain(s) of specialization(s) and their linguistic skills as also to convey us a letter of recommendation of their director of thesis. The dislocation and stay cost of the chosen candidates on the island of Crete will be covered by the ESSE network.
