Conference : National literary fields and European space
National and international within the catalogue of the Editions du Seuil
Author/s : Hervé Serry
The publisher is a central element in the circulation of knowledge between the nations. The market of cultural goods structures the organization of these exchanges. But they are also submitted, within a publishing company, to an economy which opposes the 'national' works and those coming from the translation market. A similar opposition exist for the transfer of rights. We will examine the role of these oppositions through the concrete case of the catalogue of the Editions du Seuil, and by considering precise moments of its history.
